Grilled Corn

It’s vacation eve.

Tomorrow we leave for the Laurel Highlands in Pennsylvania…a week filled with golfing, hiking and kayaking…

and friends…

and good food…

(that’s another blog post!)

Before I go…I leave you with this.

A simple grilled corn recipe.

No fancy herbed butters.

No fancy preparations.

Simple.

Just the corn and the grill…

After all, I’m on vacation!

Remove the outer layers on your corn. Pull back the inner layers and remove the silk.

Take the inner husks and bring them back up around the corn cobs and secure. I like to use the silicone cooking rubber bands to tie the ends of the corn husks.

Place the corn in your sink or a pot and cover with cold water. Throw in some ice cubes to keep the corn cold while soaking.

Place a plate or pan over the corn to keep it below the water.

Soak corn for 15 – 20 minutes.

Place corn on hot grill turning every 5 minutes….

The corn steams under the wet husks and absorbs the flavors of the grill.

I give to you the flavor of summer…

See you in a week!
